Please help us help them!

Since 1989, SPCA Montérégie has emerged as a beacon of hope for abandoned, neglected, and abused animals. Located on the South Shore of Montreal, our grassroots SPCA was founded by concerned citizens and is largely run by dedicated volunteers. We are proud to have been pioneers in Quebec, instituting mandatory sterilization before adoption and establishing a no-kill shelter.

Animals in our care receive shelter, freedom from fear and pain, and all the love we can offer – with no time limit. Abandoned and abused animals do not ask for much; they simply need another chance. Each year, hundreds of unwanted animals have been given a new life through our various programs, and we have reunited countless lost pets with their owners.

We are not affiliated with other SPCAs, and have our own unique goals. As we receive no government funding, we rely solely on the generosity of caring people like you to provide the necessary care for our animals. The cost of running a shelter like ours can be substantial. We depend on our members to help us cover veterinarian bills, employee salaries, renovations, food, kitty litter, construction materials, and other monthly expenses such as heating, phone bills, taxes, and our mortgage.
